Our design approach is deeply influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of “shibui”, finding simple, unobtrusive beauty in our work, as well as “iki” which focuses on the essence and purity of the work.
In 2003, he opened a furniture studio and primitive art gallery with his wife, Puji Astuti. The business has since expanded to include bespoke furniture, garden stone and sculpture, primitive art and design consultation, and installation. In addition, Tom designed three exclusive “Art Homes” that reflect an aesthetic of modern design combined with primitive materials and custom-made feature furniture, and thoughtfully curated art. These special villas are now available for vacation rentals and are managed by Tom and Puji’s son, Adi Diharmadi.
